Abstract

【課題】 光変調装置を介して形成される画像の美観を向上させることができる光学部品及びこの光学部品を備えたプロジェクタを提供すること。 【解決手段】 光学部品1は、液晶パネルの光束射出側に配置されるものであり、第一位相差フィルム11と、第一複屈折板12と、第二位相差フィルム13と、第二複屈折板14とを有する。第一複屈折板12は、液晶パネルのブラックマトリクスの格子状の遮光部の一辺に沿った方向の光学軸を有する。第二複屈折板14は、第一複屈折板12の光学軸と略直交する光学軸を有する。光学部品1を介して射出された光L1は、4本の光線L7,L8,L9,L10に分離され、光線L7,L8,L9,L10は、ブラックマトリクスの格子状の遮光部に沿った辺を有する略正方形、或いは長方形の頂点に配置されることとなる。 【選択図】 図4
<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component, capable of improving the appearance of an image formed by a light-modulation device, and to provide a projector equipped with the optical component. <P>SOLUTION: The optical part 1 is placed in a beam-exiting side of a liquid crystal panel and comprises a first retardation film 11, a first birefringence plate 12, a second retardation film 13, and a second birefringence plate 14. The first birefringence plate 12 has an optical axis, in a direction along one side of a lattice-shaped light-shielding portion in a black matrix of the liquid crystal panel. The second birefringence plate 14 has an optical axis substantially orthogonal to the optical axis of the first birefringence plate 12. A light L1, exiting through the optical part 1, is split into four beams L7, L8, L9, L10, and the beams L7, L8, L9, L10 are arranged at the vertexes of a square or a rectangle, having side lines along the lattice-shaped light-shielding portion of the black matrix. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
